The Happy Mail Carriers
We have never had a grumpy mailman.
It's been a good picture for me and it's a good picture for all of us who also deliver "letters": the Message, the Gospel message, to the people. We don’t make the mail. We’re just the messengers. The Bible says we are ambassadors for Christ. We are His hands and feet. He reaches the world through us. He delivers the Good News using our lips. We are His vessels. Honestly, it still boggles my mind that that is how God has set it up. But, it also makes sense to me because He is a Father that always wants to include His kids on His affairs. He's a God of relationship, so of course He would use our relationship with Him to reach out and form relationships with others. He's about community! Yes, He can speak through everything (and He does!) but oh the joy when one of His own kids says, "YES!" and joins Him as He loves on others -- even to the ends of the earth.
Here's the thing, though...He has commanded us to go but, really, it's our privilege. It's an honor to serve the King. I sometimes stop and think to myself, "Who am I that God would speak to me and have me be a servant for Him??" When we recognize our place in it, we see how blessed we are to be commissioned for the task! Wow! What?!? haha
So, today's question is this:
Have you taken on the commission to tell others about Jesus? To be His 'mail carrier' so-to-speak. :)
If you have, yay! If you haven't, it's time to sit with the Father a little more and catch His heart for humanity. God loves people! If you spend any amount of time with Him and read His Bible, you'll see that pretty quickly! It's impossible to love God and be loved by Him and not want to love on people. In fact, even the top two commandments include it -- Love God and love others. And when you love others and you know you have the Answer, you'll move with compassion to happily deliver “God's mail.”

And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.” When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.
