Let The Memories Serve You

Think back. Look back. But only grab on to what is good and lovely. Think on the things I have told you and all I have done for you, but let go of the things that bring shame. Your path is washed in light, the blood of the Lamb. I do not scoop out yesterday's garbage and look closely at it, and so neither should you.

Instead, smile! Smile and rejoice that I have taken you out of such a pit, such a garbage pit and placed you on a holy hill where it is lovely and lively and free! Let the memories serve you, not pull you back to where you were. For you do not live there anymore. You are Mine now and you are seated in heavenly places!

Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭4‬-‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬
