All For Love

It's so much easier to hide. It's so much easier to tune out. It's so much easier to look away, not engage, pretend not to see. 

But aren't you glad Jesus didn't choose that way to live His life? He didn't have to be brave. He could have declined coming to earth altogether. The Father didn't have to give His Son. But it was for LOVE that He did. It's because He loves us so so much. 

And Jesus didn't have to be all in. He could have run from His calling. Things didn't really start up for Him until He was 30 years old. He had 30 years to think about it. 30 years to change His mind. But He didn't lose sight. He stayed the course after more than half a lifetime. And it was for LOVE that He did. 

And He didn't have to be compassionate. He could have gone on auto pilot, not caring as He went. He could have had a 'hired hand' mentality; not being physically, emotionally and spiritually involved. He could have been religious. But He wasn't. He was compassionate. A compassionate Shepherd. Involved. Present. Caring. And it was for LOVE that He did what He did and was the person He was and is.

Yes, it's easier to hold onto our lives. But, LOVE makes us want so much more. Love makes us want to be brave, compassionate and all in.
