Lost Socks

They're not meant to be alone.

Socks that is. I've only seen them sold in pairs. It's illogical otherwise.
But, oh, how easy it is for them to lose each other. Each time they're thrown into the hamper, there's a chance they will never see each other again. Anything can happen between there, the washer, the dryer, the laundry basket, and back into the drawer. A temporary separation turns into a tragic tale for these little foot coverings. Have we ever considered the loss they experience??

Maybe you understand how these lost socks feel. Maybe you know what it feels like to be tossed into a wash and dry cycle and then left alone at the end of the process. Or maybe you know how it feels to be paired with something special, but then have it taken from you or lost along the way. Or maybe you know what it's like to need to find 'your people.’ You know you fit somewhere, but the other sock is nowhere in sight.

The truth is, socks can't match themselves. Socks need help with finding, matching, pairing, and bringing each other together. Socks need Someone else's hands to get them matched and 'on their feet. '

And that's what our wonderful Daddy does. He sorts through the pile of laundry and finds each lost sock. He sees which ones fit beautifully together. And when He finds them, He lifts them up together and shouts, "A perfect match!"

He knows socks are not meant to live alone. He brings us together. He matches us brilliantly. He does what we can never do on our own.
