Needle and thread

can stitch things together,

even while the moon looks on.

They carry out the song that was started back when

the sun was sent under the horizon again. 

To love in life is just this simple:

We take our place and let the needle

stitch things back to where it started,

even through our fabric, even to the heart of it.

Kindness can mend and so can forgiveness.

Letting go of offense might just be the hardest,

but it's all part of the healing process.

A stitch for you, a stitch for me.

The needle and thread is for all humanity.

It's nothing fancy, nothing glamorous,

just a simple looping of thread.

But in the end it's just what's needed

to bring together two friends again.
