Praise Before The Answer
I've heard a lot of sermons in my lifetime. So many. But, it's amazing to me how certain teachings have stuck in my head for even decades -- snippets of a sermon preached 30 years ago still lingering in my heart. I was still a young Christian at the time when I heard the pastor preach this concept:
Praise Him before He answers.
Hmm. What a backwards concept to me. That's like someone celebrating that they won the lottery before they have even bought a ticket. It's illogical.
Exactly.
Faith is not logical. And God doesn't do things logically. The longer you get to know Him, the more you know this about Him!! haha! He makes no sense to us because His ways are higher than ours, foreign to us.
The pastor, that day, was teaching on the parting of the Red Sea and highlighting Miriam's praise song that is recorded in the Book of Exodus. How wonderful that she sang her way through the miracle! But his point that day was not about the song itself, but about the timing of it. To paraphrase him, he said, "How beautiful to sing once God answers, but even more amazing if she started her song before the sea even opened!"
HMMM!
Praise before He answers??
Yes.
Because eyes of faith can already see the answer before our natural eyes see it.
If we are like little children with our Father, we believe Him wholeheartedly when He tells us He will come through for us. No matter how big the prayer request. We believe it and know it simply because He said it! And if He said it, then it's as good as done. Done. Answered. But just not yet seen in the natural.
So our question(s) today is this:
What are you believing God for?
Are you waiting on a miracle?
Are you standing in front of your own Red Sea?
Has God promised you something regarding it?
Then stand on His answer. Pick up your tambourine and get dancing! Start celebrating early! Why wait? If God said it, that settles it!

Today is a day of rejoicing!
A Day for your history books!
A day the piper will get paid!
A day for everyone to see
that God is JUST and will do it His way!
For His way is right! His way is holy.
And when He moves,
nothing is left unturned,
nothing and no one is left out of the story!
He is complete in His decisions
and executes His plan!
He sends His angels
and His Spirit moves swiftly through the land!
He is remarkably sharp--
a sharp shooter, for sure!
And He hits the target precisely
for He is on the money
with every turn!
He is like a skilled athlete, businessman or soldier.
Top in class, who can compete with His thunder!?
So let all the world rejoice!
Let all the world sing out!
Our God has heard our prayers!
And His answers?
Well... we are about to find out!
P.S. I didn't remember until I finished writing today's thoughts that I refer to this sermon in another blog I wrote 5 years ago. haha. I think God is making a point here! Let's get trusting Him! Let's get believing Him! Let's stop our wavering faith and just believe Him like a child believes his daddy. He is good for it.
