Keep it Simple
The Gospel is simpler than many people make it out to be. We complicate it. We make hoops for people to jump through to come to Jesus. I'm not sure if we mean to do this. Maybe we, ourselves, don't realize how simple God has made it to come to Him.
This morning, God is reminding me that a little goes a long way. His Word is enough. The basic message of the cross is what is most important. Keep the main thing the main thing when telling people about Jesus. Don't force them into religious ceremony. Don't pile them with rules just to get them through the door. Please, don't do that! Jesus stands with His arms wide open to all those who come to Him and confess their sins and believe in Him. Don't get in the way. Just speak the simple message of the cross and let the Holy Spirit do what only He can do.

A pinch of this and a dab of that
and what comes together is a cake that lasts.
A little bit of salt and little bit of wine,
makes your dinner tasty, divine!
And so My words don't need to be many.
I am a 'man of few words'
yet My Word accomplishes plenty!
So keep it simple,
keep it sweet.
Give them My Word,
give them meat.
No need to cluster it with your own understanding.
Give them the necessities to come into aligning.
No need for fanfare and religious celebration.
No need to drag them through such ridiculous frustrations.
To do this is like requiring your guests
to walk through a ceremony, elaborately dressed
only to eat and drink at your table.
Do you see how unnecessary it all is, darling?
Don't make it hard for them to come into the party
and meet their 'Prince Charming.’
