Jar of Roses
There was one day a year in high school that you might receive a rose: Valentine's Day.
A student-run committee would set it all up. Anyone could purchase a rose, fill out a card, and have that rose (or roses) personally delivered to another student sometime during the school day. The roses became unexpected deliveries... right in the middle of math class or a science project or choir rehearsal. No one ever knew who would get one and when it would arrive. It was the grandest feeling in the world when everyone in class would hear a knock at the door by someone with a rose delivery for someone in the classroom...and that someone was you!
This morning, as I sat down with the Lord, roses came to mind. He began to remind me that He is a personal God. Very personal. He is not like some 'creature from another planet' that doesn't know anything and doesn't care about anything. NO. He IS the creator of all the things we see. He IS our creator. He IS our Father. He made us. He knows us. And He loves us so much that when there became a gap between Him and us, He sent His Son Jesus to bridge that gap. He had to do what was necessary to have us close to Him!
It's personal. Very personal to Him.
And He comes to us with roses. He comes with roses in His hands and a personal card attached with our name on it! And He's not ashamed to tell the world. He's not embarrassed to 'let the whole classroom see' His rose delivery. He boldly sends His roses with the hope that the love will be reciprocated.
Here's this morning's raw entry...
***
The beautiful entrance of My season is HERE! The glory is coming and look! It draws EVER NEAR! I am like a man who has come from a country afar, bringing gifts, bringing jars... jars filled with roses that come in small, medium, big... and I am handing them out to you and your kids! Roses that LAST, a flower that never dies! The aroma, the beauty, the hand-held surprise! Oh, yes I'm handing out roses to anyone who comes because roses are personal and roses speak of My love!
Yes, it has always been this for Me. Personal, very personal, indeed. I am not a God that is disconnected in any way. I see. I hear. I understand ALL your ways. Don't think I am some far-off 'entity' that doesn't know your name!
I love you! And I know your name.
