Sore Loser

There's no one that makes more noise than a sore loser. And I think what makes a sore loser so sore is the confidence he had prior to losing. He thought for sure he had it in the bag. So positive that the results would lean in his favor. Confident, yes, cocky even.

Lucifer is king and father of sore losers. What a brilliant plan he had in place to overthrow the King. He even convinced a third of heaven's angels to join in his masterful plan. But oh, what a surprise he was in for. Like lightning, he fell so fast from God's glory, he didn't know what hit him. He went down, and went down hard!

And oh what a sore loser he became! And oh the noise he started to make! He knew he'd lost, but he wasn't going to go down quietly.

Even today, the Loser is making all kinds of noise. How especially upset he is with Believers. He was so sure he had us. So sure of his plan to snuff us out. And now look at us! The result of pure Grace! Our wings are spreading. Our hearts are opening. Our will to please the King is strong and beautiful. And Lucifer is just beside himself! He desperately tries old tactics on us to trip us up. But we have eyes to see his snares now and we're not going to be fooled by those old tricks anymore. The tables are turned and he is now shrinking back from the Light that is penetrating through us. He's reminded again that He's been defeated. Yes, that it was all finished 2,000 years ago on the cross. And we are a daily reminder to him that it's all over for him. His glory has gone up in flames.

So laugh, my friends! You're on the winning team! Don't fear Lucifer. He's just a big old loud sore loser.

When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!” “Yes,” he told them, “I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning! Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.”
