A Prayer Before Setting Sail

I know You alone, O Lord, are the great I AM! 

And in You I will boast as I move forward in the land! 

I am not taking with me my own resolutions, 

my own thoughts or ideas. My own righteousness is an illusion. 

For what I ride on is the wave of grace. 

It's the wave that pulls me UP out of time, out of space. 

It is beyond my own capacity to do what you have for me. 

For, what YOU have is GRAND and so much bigger than me!

So I lean in again. 

I lean and won't pretend 

that somehow I have this figured out. 

I lean into grace as you lift up my face. 

In You, I won't ever, ever be disgraced.
