I Am That Friend

I am more than happy to help. 

All the time! 

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock! 

I am the One coming to you. 

I'm the one already here!

I am waiting. 

I am patiently waiting. 

And nothing can scare Me away. 

I wait for you to open the door.

I wait for you to answer. 

I wait for you to ask Me questions 

and tell Me about your day.

I wait for you.

I am your Friend,

and that's what friends do! 

They are patient. They are kind. They listen. 

They laugh with you, cry with you. 

They wait for you to talk when you don't feel like talking. 

They whisper encouragement when you are down 

and jump and rejoice when you are up! 

They always want the best for you! 

That is what good friends do! 

And I am that Friend for you!
