Approved & Accepted

Many of us struggle with needing the approval and the praise of man. And believe me, the struggle is real! Here's what I'm discovering on this topic...

We're wired to get affirmation -- God's affirmation, approval. 

If we don't receive it from Him though, we walk around in life like an orphan looking desperately for someone to approve us. And then when we do find man's praises, we often don't know how to direct it properly and can become prideful and self absorbed. It's a terrible cycle! We are so hungry to get man's thumbs up, but relying on it swirls us into a life that is ever restless, looking for the next applause, compliment and  reassurance, as we feed our pride like a it's a savage beast.

Goodness! Who can save us from ourselves!? (Of course, we know who -- Jesus! ☺️☺️☺️)

Below is a raw entry from yesterday morning as He helps me understand and discover true freedom and complete approval in Him through Jesus. :)

Do you see? 

When you let Me have the glory and not be concerned about the approval of man, you can then enjoy yourself! and not be so overly frightened. For the more you seek glory and the praise of man, the more you will be scared when you receive almost nothing or none at all from them. 

Here’s the secret to a happy life! To not seek after these things, but to enjoy your days in My love and My light. 

Look how Jesus never sought after compliments. He did not bank his career on them! haha! No, instead He delighted in just being in the moment, enjoying his disciples and lavishing His love on the innocent. And, so then He was able to face His critics, too, for man's approval was never needed to do what He had to do!

So be quicker than quick to give Me the glory. Take none of it for yourself or you'll be sorry. Not even in private - no do not see yourself too highly. But, lay that down too, for all you really need is My approval, darling.
