Like a Sailboat Needs the Wind
Today's Prayer:
We come to You today for wisdom, Lord.
How can we know the way to go if you do not guide us? Can a lost sheep find its way home without its shepherd?
And how can we prosper without You? Can a warrior fight without armor and the plan of attack? Can a football team succeed without the leader's plan?
How can we move without you? Does a sailboat glide without the wind? Does a car move without gas? Can a horse carry the load without the strength you give to him?
We are only pretending to move with purpose if we do not have You, You, Lord. We lie to ourselves and say, "Look how I have built this tower with my own hands!" We know nothing. For when the storm comes, will the tower stand if You have not established it?
We choose this day. We choose to build our lives on the Rock and with the Rock. We choose to listen to Your wise counsel. We choose to follow Your Spirit. For, in You we live and move and have our being.

Acts 17:28 NKJV

Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the Lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good. It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.
Psalms 127:1-2 NLT
https://bible.com/bible/116/psa.127.1-2.NLT
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”
When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, for he taught with real authority—quite unlike their teachers of religious law.
