Like a Boulder Down a Mountain
The fear of the Lord feels tangible today. Kind of the way I felt with my elementary school principal. He was the kindest man! But he was tall and he was strong. He towered over us kids like the Hulk. And He knew his authority. He didn't have to go around yelling, he knew he was in charge and had the final say on pretty much all larger matters in the school. One thing we all understood: Don't mess with the principal. And do all you can to keep yourself from being sent to his office for discipline.
In the same way, God is the biggest teddy bear Daddy you'll ever talk to (I blog all the time about the goodness of God! He's amazing!!!) But, that does not mean He is wishy-washy on justice. God is holy and He is judge. And at the end of the day, He still has the final say on all matters. We fear Him (not a frightened fear, but one of reverence). We understand, with a healthy perspective, that there is a God and we are not Him. He is mightier than all and in charge. And when His gavel hits the earth, it causes things to shake and quake.
Here is this morning's raw entry when I sat with the Lord.
(Note: the collapse of the tower of Babel was not physical, but more the collapse of what man was building. God had to confuse them so they abandoned their project.)

The shift has begun. Like a boulder rolling down a mountain, who will stop its descent? Once in motion, it does not stop until it reaches the bottom.
Consider My larger moves in history:
Once the tower of Babel began to collapse, it all came down.
Once Sodom and Gomorrah began to burn, not one thing was left untouched.
Once the Red Sea opened, it swallowed every Egyptian (yet not one Israelite was harmed!).
Who can stop it once it starts?
So WATCH for Me today. Watch how the dominoes are lined up and ready. I will tip one over and they will all crash to the ground.
