Access Granted

I was encouraged yesterday by a YouTube video I saw. Like me, Randy shares from his journal the things that God is saying to him. Yesterday's encouragement started with:

"Grant me access to your life
I will make all things right.
The wrongs turned into right."

It struck me because we understand the concept of "Access Granted" very well in our society. Everything that we handle that contains our personal information is locked into passwords and accounts that require permission for others to access. And it is not taken lightly! We don't just go handing out our account information and passwords to just anyone, right down to our password to unlock our phone. It is only to those we deeply trust and who have reason to access them.

So when God says, "Grant Me access to your life," He knows what He is asking from us and He knows how deeply personal that is. But, He doesn't demand access, He asks. He knocks. He stands at the door and knocks and waits to see if we will let Him in, granting Him access into our heart and life. What a gentleman He really is.

And so, today, as I sit here typing this out, I look a little closer at my own heart and ask myself, "Am I granting God access into this area of my life...or how about this area of my life...or the places in my mind that struggle and overthink all the concerns I have for my life and for the people I love...Am I giving Jesus my 'passwords'? Am I letting Him in? Or do I keep Him behind a 'firewall'?

And that is exactly today's question for all of us:

Are you granting God access into your life?
If your heart came with a password,
would you tell Him what it is?

Here's the amazing thing in this, though:

GOD SHARES HIS 'PASSWORDS' WITH US!
It's true! The Bible says that He shares His secrets with us. He's willing to let us in and tell us things. He is willing to share His heart with us. He's eager to open our eyes to reveal His Kingdom ways! He does not put Himself behind a firewall with us. He gives Himself completely to us. He's found by those who seek Him...He gives to those who ask...He opens the door to those who knock. (Matthew 7:7)

And He is just asking if we will reciprocate. Will we trust Him as a Friend and Father in our life? Will we press the button on the door of our heart that reads: "ACCESS GRANTED"?
