The Maiden, The King & The Promotion
Once upon a time,
in a great Kingdom (NOT) so far away,
a maiden sat and prayed.
"Oh Lord, King of this Kingdom,
to you I give this day."
Now, the Lord, (the King), was kind
and the Lord, (the King), was faithful.
And the Lord said to the maiden
who came to Him in this fable,
"You are so fair and you are so lovely
and I am so proud to be your King,
fair lady.
So, this is what I shall do,
for you have been exquisite:
I will justify everything
and let you in on My plenty,
and I hope you won't resist it.
"I simply can not let you linger in the meadows,
forever feeding pigs
and tending cattle.
I must let you in and let you dine
and let you taste and eat
from the divine.
For I am generous and kind!
"And I have seen and I have witnessed
the injustice, too.
I know and I have seen everything.
But, now it is time
for recompense for you!
"You are out of place now,
like something not right in a picture.
You don't fit the scene
for a princess belongs in a castle!
"So, I will uproot you from your muddy lifestyle of muck
and lift you UP.
I will place you gladly
in the highest room in My palace
and give you everything --
even the finest!
I will wash away your tears
and mend your clothes and heart.
I will give you
what you have always desired --
even to the smallest parts!
And, I will give back to YOU
what you have given up for ME
to work in the meadow so tirelessly,
without complaint or jealousy!
What a marvel you are to Me!
"And so I will move you swiftly
like a person
who is rushing to catch their carriage!
I will rush you there
so you know it's Me.
I will make it obvious!
Obvious, to all those who are looking!
“And they will marvel and say,
‘What a sight!
Our king moved the servant girl
into the palace
OVERNIGHT!’”
