Even As I Catch the Rain

Where are you sunshine when all I see is rain?

Do you hide away when you see me coming?

Or do you forget to turn my way?

I don't understand why you shine for others

but here I am all wet.

Is it something I did?

Is it something I said?

Because I'm certain I did forget. But,

I'm waiting for you sunshine

I haven't given up hope!

And I'm waiting for you sunrise

to get this show on the road.

One thing that can be trusted

is night and day take turns.

So, I'll see you sun.

I'll see you day.

I'll wait for you here,

even as I feel the dark,

even as I catch the rain.

The question that remains here is: What will I gain in this?

For gems are found in darker places

there are diamonds in my midst.

And will I see the rainbow

through the raindrops we call tears?

Every moment is a lesson
