Even Through the Thickets

Sometimes the path of blessing is through the thickets and shadowed by storm clouds. Sometimes its road is rocky and to get to where He wants to take you, you have to be willing to press through with Him on the steep inclines and uncharted territories.

Is His way always filled with sunshine and rainbows? To ask that would be to ask if every day could be cloudless and sunny. Just as not everyday has perfect weather, so His path is not always accompanied by a perfect forecast.

But is God only God when the journey is smooth sailing? Does He love us any less when our days are not so easy?  Does He bless us any less or is He any less present? No. His love never fails us. 

And we remember, too, in the midst of it... we did not join Him on His path so we could live a painless life. We joined Him because His love captivated us. He drew us in with His loving kindness. And we realize, we could never stop following Him - even through the thickets - because He now has our affection, yes even our whole hearts.
