Preparing the Landscape
Isaiah had spoken of John when he said, “He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the LORD’s coming! Clear the road for him! The valleys will be filled, and the mountains and hills made level. The curves will be straightened, and the rough places made smooth. And then all people will see the salvation sent from God.’”

Listen! It’s the voice of someone shouting, “Clear the way through the wilderness for the LORD! Make a straight highway through the wasteland for our God! Fill in the valleys, and level the mountains and hills. Straighten the curves, and smooth out the rough places. Then the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all people will see it together. The LORD has spoken!”

The things in our hearts that are like valleys, like discouragement and doubt...let them be filled in and brought up to the playing field.
And the things in our hearts that are big like mountains, like our puffed up prides...let them be leveled and brought low.
And let the things that are crooked, be straightened out, like our perceptions...let our minds be renewed. Let us line up with the Word of God. And our crooked actions...let our decisions be righteous.
And let the rough places in our hearts be smoothed out. The smaller things that aren't as big as mountains, but still trip us up. Let those things be sanded down and refined.
And why? So that He may come and the Glory of the Lord can be revealed and all will see God through His Landscape!

We are His landscape that He is
leveling, straightening and smoothing out.
The things in our hearts that are like valleys, like discouragement and doubt...let them be filled in and brought up to the playing field.
And the things in our hearts that are big like mountains, like our puffed up prides...let them be leveled and brought low.
And let the things that are crooked, be straightened out, like our perceptions...let our minds be renewed. Let us line up with the Word of God. And our crooked actions...let our decisions be righteous.
