Wired to Be Synched
The Kingdom of God is always the upside-down to us. In the greatest moments of distress in life, we are offered peace. In the saddest, darkest times we are offered joy. In the moments where we despair, hope reaches down and smiles at us. In chaos, warfare and trouble we open our eyes to see that we STILL sit by still waters. Our reality in the Kingdom is the opposite of the world's. And we will experience it....
if we choose to remain in Him.
If we choose to be like John 15 says and be like a branch attached to the vine.
If we stay connected, relying on Him, depending on Him as our life source, we will thrive. But if we choose to disconnect, we remove ourselves from the very flow of life. In Him, we bear much fruit, apart from Him we can do nothing. You can't get more cut and dry than that.
What situation do you find yourself in today? What are your current needs? Do you need courage? Do you need healing? Do you need peace? Then stay attached (or get attached) to the Vine. Just as a branch can not find its nourishment apart from its vine, so we can not find what we need apart from our Vine (Jesus). We were not built to be self-reliant, living apart from our Heavenly Father. We are actually wired to be synched with Him. That's why so many of us feel lost. If we aren't attached to our Father (through Jesus) we will always feel like a wondering soul on the earth (because we are). No matter how much success we have. No matter how much money we have. No matter how much people tell us 'we've made it.' If we are not attached to the Vine, we will never really feel settled. We will always feel the pangs of restlessness.
Our life is found in one place: Jesus.
Are you attached to Him?

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other.”
