Different Clothes, Same Closet

One of the most beautiful things about the Body of Christ is our diversity. We all have the same Spirit. We all serve the same God. We all love Jesus. But we all sure look different doing it! Just consider all the cultures and styles out there. For as many different types of people there are in the world, there are that many varieties of people in the Kingdom of God. 

So, never judge a book by its cover. Someone might not fit the image you have in your head of what a Christ-follower should look like, but it doesn't mean that they don't love the Lord or that God is not perfectly happy with what they choose to look like and wear. We must be careful not to push people into religious boxes and expect them to look a certain way. This is a Kingdom we live in! And in a Kingdom there are all types of people. Rather than criticize or control others, maybe sit back and appreciate the wonders of His people and our great diversity!

I'm opening to you a closet with selections. Various styles of clothing that can be worn for various occasions and transactions. Some things black. Some things white. Some things with very little 'style' in sight! Yes, some things are very plain, to blend in and not stand out. But then other items in this room are meant to catch the eye of everyone about. See? Various items but all from the same storehouse. I clothe my children in all kinds of things so they fit the scene when they are out and about.

So you see? My children come dressed in all kinds of things! They don't just look like uniformed soldiers doing my bidding. I let them dress in what suits their style. For, My Kingdom is diverse! And I love to see them smile! Yes, it gives Me great joy to let My children be themselves. And I don't make them religious, pompous or force them to be something else!
