Waiting for Surprises as I Get to Know You (Good Morning Letter)

If you're like me, you might be waiting on God for a few things in your life. Waiting for Him to answer certain prayers. Waiting for Him to do what He has promised. You don't doubt He will do it, you just might get a little impatient in the process. It can be like waiting for Christmas Day to come. You know it will, but it feels like it takes forever (or at least that's how I felt when I was a kid!) 

God is reassuring me that "Christmas Day" will come. And when it does it will still feel surprising because He loves to surprise us and delight us! But, He's reminding me today that there's so much to learn about Him while I wait! 

May we not lose sight of the fact that God is just as interested in us getting to know Him as He is answering our requests. It's all part of the same package! And then how much more will we appreciate the gift when it comes because we have gotten to know the Giver in the process! 

This entry is so cool because as He's saying "get to know Me," He inserts things about Himself so I can get to know Him. haha.

Good morning! 

Today is a beautiful day! The moment has arrived! And isn't that the way? You wait and wait for the train to come in, but when it does it still feels like a suddenly when it begins. The anticipation so great, and yet you're startled by surprise! haha! My joy is great when I watch how you are delighted and realize... 

that I am the Father of all and I come and make PEACE to all men large and small. I don't make deals, I just extend grace. I don't take bribes, I give mercy in its place. I don't get bamboozled, confused or thrown out of step. I am steady, with authority, and I teach you My ways so you can do the same and be like Me and never fret! 

See? I teach you My ways so you can be like Me. And you can live a life that is free of anxiety. "NO MORE!" You will say to the evil at your door! "You can NOT come in and wreak havoc anymore!" For you will see what it does when you crack the door just an inch! And you will begin to refuse its company again! 

So, listen, My friend... take this advice deep into your heart: Hold on to Me and never let My words depart. Do not start thinking that you've got this on your own. For the minute you think that, you will find yourself fighting in your own strength instead of resting in My arms. You only got this far because I have carried you here. So resist the desire to "take it from here." haha No darling, resist it and stay with Me here.
