Never Giving Up On You
A gush! A flush! A BURST!
You come in like a flood when we need it the most! You put things in reverse!
Your heart is all for us.
You're fully committed!
You don't hold back -- No!
The sky is the limit!
But You're looking to see...
who will take You up on Your offer.
You're seeing who is watching the door --
just waiting for You to enter!
You're looking to see if we are
expectantly waiting.
Or have we given up,
gotten drowsy?
Fallen into our own naval-gazing?
Are we like the 5 virgins with oil in their lamps?
Looking, watching
for the moment You 'pop out.'
Or have we left our posts?
Have we given up easily?
Have we grown bitter and sour
as if You haven't given us everything??
Are we angry at the Father?
Are we bitter at Your Son?
Do we blame You and accuse You
and now refuse to accept that You'll even come?
But those whose hearts that stay fixed on You,
will NOT be disappointed.
For they can see the truth --
that You are kind and merciful
and Your ways are perfect, indeed.
And even though we question You're actions,
You never stop loving us faithfully.
You give us what we need!
No, we don't always understand Your ways
but that's because Your ways are higher.
So, bring us up to where You are, Lord,
so we can see and hear the Father!
Oh! Help our faith and don't let our hearts falter!
We look for you, Lord!
We wait on Your timing!
We anticipate and will participate
in this hour that is shining!
You're coming, Lord! Oh Faithful and True!
Don't ever let us give up!
Never ever give up on You!

“…But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?” Luke 18:8 NLT

”Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
“Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’
“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. Matthew 25:1-13 NKJV
