Limited to be Limitless
Do you ever feel like God's borders around you get tighter and tighter? Don't touch this. Don't lean on that. Don't use food as a crutch.
He removes things in our life that have become alternative hiding places. He removes the places we want to run to to find comfort, rather than run to Him. When I first came to God, it seemed like all He was doing was taking things away in my life, like a boyfriend I was on unequally yoked with at the time. But He pulls us away from relationships that hurt us or are not good for us. He washes the addictions out of our hands.
He removes those things so that He can replace them with Himself. He longs to be our God. He longs to be our King. He longs to be king in our hearts by our own decision and will.
He creates boundary lines to protect us from the false dependencies. He limits us only to give us the opportunity to be limitless. He hems us in so we can be free.
My neighbor, who has a young child, is building a fence around her yard. Is she building the fence to trap him? Is she building it to be cruel to him? No, of course not. She is building it for his protection. She is building it so that he can go outside and freely enjoy the yard without the fear of any harm coming to him.
God builds fences around our lives and limits us not to be cruel, but to let us fully enjoy every ounce of true freedom He has for us. He’s a good Father.
