Dad's Love

He gives and never asks for anything back.

Just as a good father doesn't hug and demand one right back.

He hugs and he kisses. He empties his wallet.

He gives his free time. He doesn't give garbage.

He loves all the moments His little girl takes

to pause and look up -- what a smile He makes!

He never is frowning and regrets being Dad.

His child is His! Who else can make Him this glad?!

See, He loves unconditionally. It's true, fact, for sure.

He doesn't pull back when we push and ignore

all His love and affection. No, He just keeps on giving

and waits until we're ready, ready for receiving.

He's more patient than what we give Him credit for.

Love is patient. Love endures.

So He waits and He waits as He gives and keeps giving.

And meets us where we're at in the land of the living.
