Pots & Pens

Grace allows you to do things you could never do in your own strength. It's the beautiful element in our relationship with God that forces us to say, "There's no way that was me! Grace did it!" We can't take credit for it. We get no accolades for it because we were only the vessel in the scenario. We were only the 'clay pot' that held, carried and poured out something amazing. And just as a pen can not take credit for an author's work, so we take no glory as He holds us in the palm of His hand and lets the 'ink' of His presence flow through us.

What freedom this gives us as His vessels! For He is not asking us to perform. He is only asking us for our surrender and willingness. Once He has that, not even the sky is the limit.

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
