The Shepherds' Encounter

How did I visit the shepherds in the deep of night - 

when all was dark, nothing bright?

I sent my fleet of angels beaming 

to shine My light, the darkness fleeing!

They lit the sky that night so fair.

The shepherds' eyes opened, suddenly aware!

that this was a moment in time like none other.

"This is a moment," they said to each other,

"a moment we've all been waiting for! 

A moment we were not even ready for, looking for!"

They sang praises, though they shook to the core;

they realized that I was doing much more

than they had even first hoped for!

Oh what delight! Oh to see that I had come to them

to see that My faithfulness did not rely on men!

No, My faithfulness will never rely on men.
