Kinder Than We Know

God! You give us chances -- seconds, thirds and fourths!
You never stop your kindness, there's also so much more
mercy, grace and loving kindness than what we really know.
If only we would call upon the One who's here to show
that even when we pull away, you never stop your wooing.
Even when we push and fight, Your love just keeps on calling.

For when we're close, we see the truth, we see your tender heart.
And when we're close the light can shine and reach our deepest parts.
So You pull us in, You wrap us up in blankets full of peace.
You wash away our tears. You meet our aching needs.
Oh kind and loving Father, Your love just keeps on coming!
And so we turn and run to you where mercy's ever flowing!
