Fashion Runways
Some ministries are like fashion runways. They show off beautiful things that can be worn, but make it difficult for the everyday person to relate to or feel like they can easily wear the items that are being showcased. The people might observe and maybe admire all of it, but at the end of the 'show', they take nothing home with them. They never find clothing that feels tailored to them. These "runway ministries" are fun to watch but not practical and leaves a person naked, so to speak.
Can you imagine if Jesus' ministry was run like a fashion runway? What if when He multiplied the bread and fish before the people's very eyes, He never fed them? Or what if He proclaimed to do miracles, but never actually healed anyone? Or what if He boasted about His knowledge of the Word, but never taught the people in simple terms they could understand? What if He "showcased" but people still walked away hungry and unchanged?
Thankfully, He didn't. He understood that ministry is only ministry when everyday people are practically served. Ministry seeks not just to talk about what you can 'wear', but actually hand people 'clothes', so they walk away with something they can relate to and wear on an everyday basis.
