The Love That Knows the Way
The greatest thing we can ever do on planet earth is let the Lord our God love us and love Him back with everything that is in us. There is nothing better we can experience in this world. Literally. No, seriously. Seriously. No wonder God makes it the greatest commandment. He wants to let us experience the greatest thing we can ever experience!
It's better than fame, fortune, sex, food, drugs, career success, religion... All of it. See none of those things show us who we are or who our Father is. They cater to our fleshly appetites. But that's it. They only soothe the surface, like scratching an itch. It's impossible for those things to discover and satisfy our deepest longings.
But the Love of God...The Love of God knows exactly the way into the secret chambers of our hearts. It knows just the route to take. All the twists and turns. All the ins and outs. All the road blocks it will need to clear. It knows how to gently push farther down without harming, healing every inch as it goes. It stretches deeper and deeper as it reaches out its fingers to warm every crevice. It soothes. It awakens. It strengthens. And it won't stop. It won't give up. It's unrelenting. It keeps going until every part is fully and completely touched and satisfied. Oh what love! Oh the Love of God!
"And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God." (Ephesians 3:18-19 NLT)
