Remembering 9/11

17 years can feel like a long time. But I’m sure for many who lost loved ones that day, it can still feel like a fresh wound in many ways.

I can remember the panic I saw in my boss’ eyes that day when he was told what was taking place. His son, an NYC police officer, was seeing it all in real time. At first he couldn’t get a hold of his son, then finally, with great relief, they were able to connect over the phone. New York suddenly didn’t feel so far away. We all felt it - in the office, in the community, around the country. We all seemed to join hands that day. One nation.
