There's so much potential in one little egg. Just one large egg packs 7g of high-quality protein and many vitamins and minerals. Webmd.com tells us:
"The egg is a powerhouse of disease-fighting nutrients like lutein and zeaxanthin. These carotenoids may reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration, the leading cause of blindness in older adults. And brain development and memory may be enhanced by the choline content of eggs."

Wow. That's pretty impressive! Who knew something so small and unassuming could provide so much benefit?? Makes me want to cook one up right now.
The thing with an egg, though, is that the only way to get to the good stuff is, of course, to crack open its shell. No matter how we choose to cook it, there is no way around it. An egg is only good to us when it's broken open. By itself, it only has the potential to help us. But placed in the right hands (the hands of someone who knows how to handle eggs), we can receive ALL its benefits.

As a believer, have you considered what is in you? Do you know how much potential is inside you simply because you have allowed Jesus to dwell in you? Do you realize that the same God that crafted the Milky Way of the universe is literally inside you right now even as you read this? I don't think we can fully comprehend it with our minds, but the Bible tells us that what we have in us is TREASURE!
"But we have this TREASURE IN JARS OF CLAY to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us." (2 Corinthians 4:7 NIV)
Amazing, right!? Like an egg, what potential we have to bring nourishment to those around us! But also, just like egg, we can only bring benefit when we allow our lives to be yielded into the Hands of our Maker (the great Chef of our lives!) and the promptings of His Spirit. The Goodness comes out as we yield to Him.
But some of us are fearful and some of us doubt. We hold back. We shrink back. We don't allow Him to handle our 'egg'.
Maybe we have forgotten. Maybe we don't yet know it. But I'll go ahead and say it now: God has deposited His LIFE within YOU. Though we are fragile egg shells, we are chock full of nothing but pure nourishment-- meant to satisfy us and be poured out to others.
So, will you? Will you let yourself be cracked open so that the goodness of Christ can pour out of you? Will you allow yourself to be vulnerable in the Hands of your Maker so He can feed the nations through you? Will you trust Him? Will you trust Him with your egg?
