Assistance, Please.
This morning, I am remembering a story I wrote back in 2012 called "Then, Come In" (link below). It's a good reminder that sometimes our worst enemy is ourself. God has such abundance for us, sooo many good things to give us, but often times we don't go to Him for any of it. We don't ask Him. We live poor because we don't ask our rich Dad for His provision. We don't have because we don't ask. (James 4:2) Instead, we stand there empty trying to muster up just a little more strength to do it on our own. We think this is the noble way but it just simply isn’t. It’s actually equal to a drowning person refusing the lifeguard's assistance as they swallow water and slowly sink.
As we start a fresh week, I am reminded of my favorite verse in the Bible:
“I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.”
John 15:5 AMP
Apart from Him we can do nothing. In Him, we have everything!
Here’s the story and a related blog. Remember, God never asked you to do life solo.

You are jealous and covet [what others have] and your lust goes unfulfilled; so you murder. You are envious and cannot obtain [the object of your envy]; so you fight and battle. You do not have because you do not ask [it of God]. [1 John 3:15]
James 4:2 AMP
“Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. [Luke 11:9-13] For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will [instead] give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will [instead] give him a snake? If you then, evil (sinful by nature) as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give what is good and advantageous to those who keep on asking Him.”
Matthew 7:7-11 AMP
